The Cooper Monaco is the commuter bike ready for long miles. Named after the famous circuit in Monte Carlo, where Cooper F1 cars won 3 Grand Prix in 1958, 1960 and 1962. Those glorious wins, celebrated by the launch of the Cooper Monaco sports car in 1961.
The Cooper Car Company was known for modern technology and development, creating the ‘Rear engine revolution’
The same is true for the new Cooper Monaco, being the first Cooper bike to use disc brakes for the best all-weather stopping. The Cooper Monaco has the disc brake mounted inside the rear stays allowing for full length standard fit mud guards and optional racks to be fitted. The Monaco keeps all the clean lines of our other models, but has eleven internal gears and disc brakes.
The Cooper Monaco frame combines the relaxed geometry angles and easy handling characteristics of urban mountain and touring bikes. The frame is compact for an upright ride and has a sloping top tube for comfort of getting on and off. The fork has been matched to this frame with a longer rake, resulting in stability and manoeuvrability.
This bike handles long miles, large loads and the commute home at the end of a long day. With drop handle bars, disc brakes and Shimano 11-speed alfine transmission, the Monaco is ready for both the commuter and occasional tourer.
The new Almond Green colour matches perfectly with the polished alloy components.
The Steel Reynolds 520 frame (double butted) gives a strong yet comfortable ride. Brooks Swallow saddle and leather bar tape add character and personality with each ride. As with all our bikes, our headbadge sets off the bike’s high-quality finish.
If you want a stylish, low-maintenance bike that will carry on during the worst weather conditions, do it in style with a Cooper bike.
